TrendPDF ("we", "us", "our") is operated by Julian Lassen, Schlesische Straße 5, 10097 Berlin, Germany. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and your rights under the GDPR.

1. Data Controller

2. Data We Collect

Account data — email address and name when you create an account via Clerk.

Subscription data — billing information processed by Stripe. We never store your card details.

Usage data — PDF generations, topics viewed, features accessed. Stored in Supabase to power your dashboard.

Technical data — IP address, browser type, page requests. Collected automatically by Vercel infrastructure.

YouTube data — We query the YouTube Data API v3 on your behalf to surface trending topics. We display results in your session but do not store video metadata beyond what the YouTube Terms of Service permit.

3. Legal Basis (GDPR Art. 6)

Contract performance (Art. 6(1)(b)) — processing your account and subscription to deliver the service.

Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)) — aggregate usage analytics to improve the product.

Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) — marketing emails, if you opt in.

5. Data Retention

Account data: retained while your account is active and for 30 days after deletion.

PDF generation history: retained for 12 months to support re-downloads, then deleted.

Billing records: retained for 10 years as required by German tax law (§147 AO).

6. Cookies

We use only technically necessary cookies (authentication session by Clerk). No advertising or tracking cookies. No cookie banner required.

7. Your Rights (GDPR Art. 15–22)

You have the right to: access, rectification, erasure ("right to be forgotten"), restriction of processing, data portability, and objection to processing.

To exercise any right, email julian@trendpdf.net. We respond within 30 days.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority in your EU member state. For Germany: Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit.

8. YouTube API Services

TrendPDF uses the YouTube Data API v3. By using our service you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service and acknowledge Google's Privacy Policy. We use YouTube API data solely to display trending topics to you — we do not store or redistribute YouTube content in ways that conflict with YouTube's API Services Terms of Service.

9. Changes to This Policy

Material changes will be communicated by email or an in-app notice at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use after that date constitutes acceptance.
